Chris Evans has told listeners of his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show that his nine-year-old son Noah, who he shares with wife Natasha Shishmanian, has been asked to return to school. It comes after the majority of educational settings were closed during the nationwide lockdown following the coronavirus pandemic.

The 54-year-old admitted that the family has a “well-oiled machine” at home in terms of schooling.

It comes as the radio DJ revealed his son’s school has asked him to return this week.

Chris told listeners: “Our eldest son Noah was invited to go back to school on Monday. But he’s not going back.

“We had a think about it and he’s really happy at home.”

The radio personality admitted his son is doing well learning from home and “everything is working out”.

In addition, the couple’s son Eli, seven, has not been asked to return to school yet.

Chris explained: “Also, Eli hasn’t been invited to go back and so they’re on the same homeschooling schedule.

“We’ve got the twins who are under two-years-old.”

Chris and Natasha also have twins, Boo and Walt, who the couple welcomed in 2018.

“It’s a pretty well-oiled machine at our house. I don’t about you guys, but it’s working out pretty well,” he went on.

“So then to throw a curveball in and have Noah being taken to school, we would have to follow the guidelines.”

Chris added: “So taking Noah to school in a car and parents can’t get out of the car. And Eli’s at home on his own. So that’s not going to happen.”

The Virgin Radio host’s remarks come after Prime Minister Boris Johnson delivered an announcement earlier this month, about phase two of the shutdown.

He indicated that the return to school would be gradual, rather than a wholesale lifting of the lockdown.

Education and childcare settings are already open to priority groups.

As part of national social distancing measures to limit the spread of coronavirus, the UK Government has had to limit the numbers of children and young people attending educational and childcare settings.

From this month, schools, colleges and nurseries are set to open to more children.

Elsewhere, Chris recently revealed he has undergone a skin cancer test after discovering concerning marks on his body before Christmas.

He added the expert told him he had “nothing to worry about” but said she advised him to get checked once a year.

Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6.30am on Virgin Radio.
