Hollywood icon Jennifer Coolidge, who turns 62 today, revealed she was urged to adopt a child by pals, but that her “immaturity” has always held her back from taking a step into motherhood.
Although the Legally Blonde and White Lotus actress still feels she would make a good step-mother, she has no desires of having children of her own.
Jennifer, who won a Golden Globe for her acclaimed role as Tanya McQuoid in hit HBO series White Lotus, fundamentally put her avoidance of motherhood down to her reluctance to grow up.
She candidly divulged in an interview with British GQ: “I’m very, very immature, I think that has kept me from having children, because I’m sort of a child.
“Maybe if I had kids, I would’ve had to have grown up. Maybe if I had kids, I would’ve had to have grown up.”

The American Pie legend went on to blame her tendency to date intense men for never getting the chance to become a mum.
Jennifer, who is believed to be single, admitted she’s never had a “joyful” partner.
The actress divulged: “‘I’ve never had, like, a laid back boyfriend that was just full of joy, you know?
“Like, someone who laughs at all your shortcomings. That’s never who I choose for myself.”

Despite being content, Jennifer admitted feeling she would “appreciate” her life in Los Angeles more if she had children to share it with.
The star explained that despite her recent career resurgence due to White Lotus, she feels “bored” living in Hollywood.
Jennifer previously shared she was “distracted” by “pursuing guys” earlier on in her acting career, which she now feels held her back.
As part of Variety’s Actors on Actors series with The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, the actress made the confession.
She recalled: “I have to say I made the terrible mistake of not riding the wave that I had early on.
“It was sort of in the ’90s when I had Legally Blonde, Best in Show and American Pie.
“And then there was Cinderella Story and stuff like that.
“But there was a moment. There was a wave I really could have ridden but I got really distracted.”
