Post Malone Reaches Last-Minute Settlement In 'Circles' Copyright Lawsuit

Post Malone has settled a copyright suit from a songwriter who alleged that he co-wrote 2019’s “Circles” but was denied credit and compensation. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

According to Rolling Stone, a court filing from U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright confirmed that Malone and Tyler Armes had “reached a settlement” and would file dismissal documents imminently. The court was informed of the agreement during jury selection.

As per Billboard, court staffers were seen taking away equipment from the courtroom that was being prepared for the trial, and the judge waved goodbye to the media who had assembled to cover the case.

The lawsuit was filed in April 2020 by Armes. According to the suit, Malone and Frank Dukes denied Armes any credit on “Circles” after the trio allegedly collaborated on the song in August 2018.
