THERE'S nothing like fish and chips from your local chippy.
But one woman who used to work in one has shared the recipe you can try at home for the ultimate fakeaway.
First add three cups of plain flour to a bowl, followed by one cup of cornflour, half a teaspoon of baking powder and a pinch of turmeric.
Don't be shy with the salt when you season the mixture, and then mix together.
Put the piece of fish – she used haddock – in the flour to coat it, and then take it out.
Add a bottle of Sprite to the flour mixture, and mix to create a batter.

If you don't want to use Sprite, you can replace it with sparkling water.
Then put the flour-coated fish back into the batter mixture, before deep frying in oil.
For the chips, she used Maris Piper potatoes, but said her best recommendation is to use red potatoes.
Fry them in oil until they're light in colour, and then when cooled down, fry again until crispy.
