Tesco website down as customers unable to access website or complete orders

TESCO'S website is currently down, leaving shoppers unable to order groceries online.

Furious customers have been complaining to the supermarket on Twitter after the website crashed mid-way through their shop.

One shopper said they spent two hours adding items to their online order before the website went down.

Others say they managed to add everything to their order, only to get an error page at the payment screen.

They tweeted: "Your website is a shambles. Just taken a couple of hours to put an order in and now your site is down just as I was adding the last item!"

Another said: "I've just spent ages adding it all to my basket will not be amused if i lose it completely. So many people on website no chance of rebooking."

A notice on the Tesco website reads: "Because our site is so busy right now, you may experience some delays.

"Please wait and refresh this page occasionally, as it won't refresh automatically.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
