What do Kim Kardashian West, Jennifer Lopez, Margot Robbie, Victoria Beckham and Ryan Seacrest all have in common? One, wealth and fame, and two, they all go to the same dermatologist. Please pause to picture that waiting room.
Beverly Hills’ Dr. Harold Lancer is near-famous in his own right for perfecting the faces that grace both the big screen and Instagram’s omnipresent eye. Normally, the doctor’s skincare line is priced for a high roller budget. The week between Christmas and New Year’s isn’t normal: Almost everything in Dr. Lancer’s skincare line is on sale at Sephora.
Sephora’s end of the year sale, dubbed the Sephorathon, has a ton of incredible savings, including sale offers on 17 of Dr. Lancer’s celebrity-loved products.
So, which celebs rely on their dermatologist’s products? In 2018, Kardashian West unveiled her skincare routine on her website and app, and included a trio of Lancer products: the brand’s cleanser, exfoliator, and moisturizer.
The next year, Beckham joined the flock of public Lancer fans, writing on her site that she’s been a patient since moving to Los Angeles over 10 years ago, and the dermatologist is to thank for helping her resolve her hereditary, problematic skin concerns. And as if those celebrity credentials weren’t persuasive enough, J.Lo named Lancer’s cleanser and eye cream as must-haves in January 2020.
At this point in the Sephorathon, a fair number of the brand’s products are sold out. But if you’re like Beckham and a fan of glycolic acid, Lancer’s Retexturizing Treatment Cream with Glycolic Acid 10x does the trick. Shoppers say the gently exfoliating cream steadily gets rid of scarring and discoloration, with some calling it the “favorite thing [they’ve] ever purchased.”

If you have congested skin, you’re in luck (a phrase not said often). One shopper says nothing could get a handle on her hormonal acne, until she took a cue from Kardashian West and tried Lancer’s Blemish Control cleanser. “I’ve tried cleansers upon cleansers but this one is THE BEST,” she wrote. “Hefty price tag, but worth every penny in my opinion.” Others agree the face wash alone made their acne clear up, even stubborn cysts, and it changed their skin forever.

It’s rare for anything to go up against oily skin and win, yet shoppers say Lancer’s moisturizer for oily skin is the long-sought after needle in a haystack that makes a difference. Per reviewers, it’s a lightweight lotion that simultaneously keeps oil at bay all day, clears pores, and makes skin “velvety soft.”

And if you’re continually in awe at the bouncy, lineless skin that seems like a celebrity birthright, there’s one over-the-counter product that delivers the same results as Botox, no needles required. Shoppers say that Lancer’s Younger Pure Youth Serum with MIMIXYL (a proprietary blend of retinoids), adds volume to their sunken under-eye area while tackling fine lines and wrinkles, and others second that it “knocked out” their deep smile lines.

One devotee writes that while she struggles with the price of Lancer products, she always comes back — and the Pure Youth Serum is the main reason. “The first time I used it, I woke up thinking the smoother and more supple texture was just my imagination,” she wrote. “My tear troughs and under-eye area slowly started to plump and my redness, pore size and fine lines were all diminished, almost blurred out.” According to the shopper, “nothing even remotely compares.”
Given the number of celebrities that keep coming back to Dr. Lancer, they’d probably agree. There’s no telling how long this discount will last, so if celebrity skin is on your 2021 vision board, manifest it and shop the sale now.
