We’ve all been following the Gorilla Glue saga intently.
A month ago, Tessica Brown had sprayed the super strength adhesive to her hair instead of her usual product.
What resulted was a super sleek, shiny, and super glued hairdo.
The 40-year-old mum from Louisiana and businesswoman lived in pain for a month, before having her ponytail cut off to give some breathing space.
Tessica also went to hospital where acetone was applied, which only ended up burning her scalp.
Seeing the distress Tessica was in, a kind-hearted cosmetic surgeon in L.A, Dr Michael Obeng, offered his services for free.
After crowdfunding, Tessica was able to make the trip, as well as pay off her medical bills.
And as of last week, she is glue free as Dr Obeng carefully removed the adhesive.
Tessica is now showing off her short, newly freed tresses.
Dr. Obeng, who offered the $12,500 (£9,030) treatment for free, used a mix of medical-grade adhesive remover, MGD – a combination of aloe vera and olive oil – and little acetone to treat Tessica.
But he tried it on a dummy before applying it to Tessica’s hair.
After the mixture was applied to Tessica’s head with a spray, Dr Obeng used medical scissors and tweezers to gently separate the matted hair, cutting away the glue.
He and his team then ran a comb through the matted tresses to remove the glue.
The process took four hours and Tessica was given some anaesthesia to deal with the pain.
Tessica was also given painkillers and steroids to reduce the swelling and inflammation caused by the glue, plus the chemicals she used to try and remove it.
Mum-of-five Tessica was left in tears as she woke up and was told her hair was back.
Emotional that the plight was finally over, Tessica ran her hair through her locks, feeling the natural texture for the first time in over a month.
She then shared an image of herself with the doctor who saved her, on her Instagram.
She wrote: ‘Words cannot even explain how I feel about @drmichaelkobeng you really gave me my life back and I am forever grateful.’
We’re so happy for her!
