The Chase: Bradley ignored by Anne Hegerty after mocking her

Anne Hegerty, who is best known as The Governess on The Chase, has dismissed the suggestion that Bradley Walsh is set to be replaced as a host on the ITV quiz show. It comes after reports cited recent activity from bookmakers which lowered the odds of the presenter’s exit.
The quizmaster dismissed reports Phillip Schofield could step in as an “absolute non-story”.
In addition, ITV announced a spin-off show of the popular series, which will see the quizmasters take charge without a main host.
The Chase Extra will air on its streaming service exclusively and each episode will be a lot shorter than those of the main show.
The 62-year-old pointed to the spin-off show and clarified this did not mean there would be any changes to the line-up.
Taking to Twitter, Anne reacted to a report where she shut down the idea that any of the quizmasters or Bradley had plans to depart The Chase.
In view of her 149,000 followers, she penned: “None of us is going anywhere. The Chase Extra is just a little show on the ITV website, not replacing anything.”
The Governess later tweeted: “I daresay betting websites do have odds on practically anything happening. But it doesn’t mean they’re GOING to happen.”
For more than ten years, Bradley has been on hand to help the players as host of the ITV quiz show.
The popular quiz programme features professional Chasers Anne, Mark “The Beast” Labbett, 55, Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha, 50, Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan, 38, Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace, 60, and newcomer Darragh “The Menace” Ennis, 40.
The Chase Extra begins March 8 and the six Chasers will each feature in their own instalment over subsequent weeks to ask those watching at home a series of 10 questions.
Due to the show setup, Bradley won’t be needed as the Chasers take centre stage to host their very own episodes.
Fans have since shared their delight over the exciting news, as one wrote: “Brilliant, looking forward to this!”

“I can’t wait! This has made my Monday a whole lot brighter,” a third added.
Meanwhile, Anne has previously explained how The Chase has changed her life for the better.
Speaking on Loose Women last year, Anne commented: “If I hadn’t got the job I would’ve been muddling along on benefits and trying to get off benefits and actually earn enough as an academic proof-reader.”
But she admitted she wasn’t good at “keeping up with the paperwork”, saying that her autism affected her ability to multitask and make sure things like invoices were kept on top of.
Anne added: “So I could just easily get swamped by it. It’s one of those autistic things, multitasking and keeping everything pulled together.”
She was soon offered the job of a lifetime, which she revealed happened “by chance”.
The quizmaster told the panel: “Just by chance I happened to meet someone who told me there was a high-level quizzing circuit and I got on the quizzing circuit, that’s how I heard about the existence of The Chase.”
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
