Avengers’ Robert Downey Jr looked after his pal Tom Holland on the set of Endgame and our hearts truly can’t take it.
We love them 3000.
The Spider-Man star, whose future in the MCU is a little uncertain following the drama with Marvel and Sony, told the sweet story of how his co-star looked out for him when he was a Marvel newbie.
Appearing at the FanX convention in Salt Lake City, the 23-year-old explained that, despite being one of the biggest movie stars in the world, ‘kind and caring’ Robert always has time for everyone.
Tom recalled: ‘I was sick on set one day and I don’t even know the guy. He was like, “Come to my trailer and I’ll make you feel better”.
‘He kind of looked after me and took me under his wing a little bit. Entering the Marvel Universe is daunting – it’s a big process.’
The pair have clearly become close friends during their time in the MCU, even joining forces to make light of the Sony and Marvel situation when fans were busy freaking out.
When it was reported that Disney and Sony failed to come to an agreement on the terms of the next Spider-Man movies, the duo got together to taunt fans with selfies – including one where they’re seen clutching onto Spider-Man and Iron-Man action figures.
As if that wasn’t enough, Tom captioned the snap: ‘We did it Mr Stark!’
Now that’s just cruel.
And it’s no surprise that the Endgame directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, are rallying for the Tony Stark actor to be honoured with an Oscar.
‘I don’t know if I have ever seen – in movie history – a global audience react to a performance the way they did to Robert Downey in that movie,’ Joe told Daily Beast.
‘There were people bawling in movie theatres, hyperventilating. I mean, that is a profound performance, when you can touch audiences all over the world to that degree. We’ve never seen anything like that, and if that doesn’t deserve an Oscar, I don’t know what does.’
No lies detected.
