Angela Rippon and Strictly Come Dancing partner Kai Widdrington may be in “trouble” as they approach week eight of the BBC ballroom competition.
Last weekend, Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk were eliminated after Angela, 79, was unanimously saved by the judges.
Following the Waterloo Road star’s departure, fans and Strictly stars such as James Jordan have taken to social media to claim that Adam, 35, was “robbed” of his place on the show.
As the broadcaster and Kai, 28, prepare to perform a Paso Doble to ‘Hung Up’ by Madonna on Saturday, body language expert Darren Stanton believes that this could be the pair’s final dance.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Roulette, the Nottingham native said: “Angela and Kai found themselves in the dance off this week. I think she will be in trouble again next week. They seem to be slipping behind now.”

“She will either be in the dance off again or leave the competition. She has been receiving fewer positive comments, so it might be her time now.”
He also claimed that she is currently “reaching the pinnacle of her abilities” and it may not be enough to secure her slot in Blackpool.
Darren continued: “Angela and Kai have a deep rapport and strong bond, but their technique isn’t at the same level as the other couples.”
The personality – who has previously appeared on This Morning and The One Show – also went on to state that another couple are currently feeling the pressure.

Despite Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin being awarded 36 points for last week’s Jive, Darren doesn’t believe they will hoist the Glitterball Trophy.
He said: “Layton and Nikita are a very strong couple and strong contenders to go to the final. When they finished the routine, they looked pleased with themselves and were confident they did well.
“They have gone from strength to strength in terms of their reciprocal liking and dancing technicalities. However, the pressure will be beginning to show with these two.
“They will need to keep up with all the other couples and prove their place. Now, we will be looking at their levels of resilience when they’re tested by the judges and the demands of their next routine.”
Darren added: “I think they will do well, and last a bit longer in the competition, but I don’t see them winning.”
Both Angela and Kai and Layton and Nikita will perform for the eighth time live on Saturday evening.
Tune into Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One at 6.05pm.
