Beyoncé and Jay-Z Want to Do More Than Just Provide For Their Kids

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are probably the closest people America has to royalty. This power couple not only has matching his-and-hers meteoric careers in music, but they’re also parents to three adorable children: 8-year-old Blue Ivy, and 2-year-old twins Sir and Rumi.

How do they raise their children? Although they’re obviously able to provide them with every financial luxury available, that’s not enough. For Beyoncé and Jay-Z, they want to give their kids more than everything.

Every parent enjoys giving their kids fun gifts and experiences, and Jay-Z and Beyoncé are no exception. However, they recognize that material things aren’t enough for a happy childhood. They strive to give their kids a much more important foundation in life.

“Providing — that’s not love,” Jay-Z once explained to Today. “Being there — that’s more important.”

The proud parents do work hard to prioritize their kids, even with their busy careers. Beyoncé is known for being a hands-on mom, and she and Jay-Z put in a lot of effort to ensure that their kids have a normal life and get to spend plenty of time with their parents.

Just being there isn’t enough, however. They also put a lot of thought into how they go about things.

They’re very intentional about their choices

Having gone through some painful times in their marriage, the couple knows how important it is to deal with your issues and decide what kind of relationships you want to have. They put that same thoughtfulness into their parenting and considering their kids’ needs.

To ensure that Blue Ivy is ready to take on the world, Beyoncé has hired a confidence coach to work with her. Blue Ivy seems to be very comfortable in public, so it must be working well. Perhaps the twins will get the same coaching when they’re older, and the Carter kids will grow up to rule the world!

They’re also careful to teach their kids the value of money and how important it is to give back. Blue Ivy has joined them for charity events, so she can learn that there are less fortunate people in the world. Growing up with the expectation of helping people will hopefully help the kids stay grounded, even as they grow up surrounded by staggering wealth.

One of their inspirations for their thoughtful parenting style came from someone very close to them.

Tina Knowles has been a big part of what Beyoncé has done, designing her outfits and managing her career at the beginning. But her input goes beyond that.

The couple doesn’t spank their kids, and Knowles says that’s because her daughter tends to parent the same way she did. She sees her influence in many things such as the way the parents work on “just really talking to the kids and reasoning with them.”

Another way their parenting is similar to Knowles’ is the way they’re not afraid to bring in experts to help when they need it.

Apparently, Beyoncé and her sister Solange experienced some sibling rivalry when they were kids, so Knowles took them to therapy to work out their differences. She also made sure to spend time with each girl individually, to be certain that both of her daughters knew they were important to her.

It’s clear that Jay-Z and Beyoncé work hard to be good parents. While many people probably think Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir are lucky because they are growing up in luxury, their parents understand that they need more than that. This famous couple knows their kids deserve only the best, and that means time with their loving parents.
