BBC ‘refuses’ to play charity singles claims Brian May
Former Queen band member Brian May, 73, “really hates” ITV show The Voice because it doesn’t represent the “full package” a musician needs to become a brand. The guitarist explained that first impressions are key in the industry, and it’s not just about the sound of the voice.
That is the whole definition of people’s first impressions

During a recent interview, he said: “We make music and it is all about music but the packaging is vital as it is the first thing people see.
“It is like an album cover, the picture on the album cover.”
Brain added: “That is the whole definition of people’s first impressions.”
He used the example of his new fragrance Save Me, part of a campaign to help protect endangered wildlife, as he noted the product itself is just as important.

“You want to hold it and touch it. For me it is a big part of it. I think this is true of human’s too,” he said.
“With a performer you could say it is all about the voice but it is not just about the voice. It is about the whole body, the face and the soul.
“Which is why I really hate this programme called The Voice because it does not work.
“You cant just isolate a voice and think that is what it is all about.”
Brian continued to tell The Mirror that at a concert, spectators pay to see the person and not just hear their voice.
He noted: “If you go to a concert it is about a person.
“You see their voice, you look into their eyes, you see their body and movement and their passion which reflects in everything they do. It is the same with this.”
The Voice is currently in it’s 10th series, fronted by judges will.i.am, Olly Murs and Sir Tom Jones, as well as Anne-Marie, who has replaced Meghan Trainor.

Last year, Olly’s artist Blessing Chitapa, scooped the winning title.
The blind auditions continued on Saturday, as more hopefuls tried their luck at impressing the four judges.
This year’s show has a virtual audience due to the coronavirus pandemic, and one eager audience member found a very creative way to get Tom’s attention.
Holding up a sign hoping that the singer would notice them, Olly was the one who spotted the message.
On the piece of paper it read: “Has Tom got TikTok?”
Olly put the question to his colleague: “Have you got TikTok Tom?”
He replies: “Yes… right here,” he added pointing at his watch laughing.
The Voice continues on Saturday at 8:30pm on ITV.
