In her introductory video, the ‘Captain Marvel’ star shares clips of video conversations she’s had with her mother, famous friends and other YouTube personalities over advice and content ideas.
AceShowbiz -Actress Brie Larson is preparing to give fans a more personal look at her life off-set by launching her own YouTube channel.
The “Captain Marvel” star welcomed viewers to her page on Thursday (July 02), when she shared clips of video conversations she’s had with friends, family members and other YouTube personalities, from whom she sought advice and content ideas for the new project.
“YouTube has been a place where I have learned so much,” Larson explains in her debut post, titled “So, I made a decision….”
“Whether it’s been how to use my printer or it’s been watching how to be a considerate activist, this is the place to talk about things that are important and that matter,” she says. “It doesn’t mean that there isn’t also silly content, that there’s ways for me to express myself personally, but there will also be deep conversations, anti-racist rhetoric, (and) inclusive content…”
Brie’s first video guests include her best friend, actress Jessie Ennis, “First We Feast’s Hot Ones” host Sean Evans, late night TV presenter Lilly Singh, makeup artist Nina Park, and personal trainer Jason Walsh.
Her mother and grandmother also make cameos in the introductory clip, in which Larson mentions the film auditions that didn’t pan out. “I auditioned for ‘Star Wars’, I auditioned for ‘The Hunger Games‘, I auditioned for ‘The Terminator’ reboot…,” she shares, recalling how she suffered a flat tire on the day of the latter try-out.
The star hopes to use the channel to reveal her true self and really connect with devotees after previously avoiding the spotlight in between projects to prevent over-exposure in the press.
“I’m incredibly excited about joining the YouTube family and having the opportunity to share a little bit more about myself through personal videos and stories,” she tells People.com.
“For so long the Internet perception of me has been through this carefully curated lens of a press day pegged to a specific project I am promoting. I’ve been hesitant to reveal too much about myself, partly out of fear of the unknown, but also because I had this idea that people wouldn’t be able to believe me as other characters.”
“I see my channel as a way to break away from this line of thought and become more vulnerable and open about my flaws, what I am passionate about and who I actually am.”
