‘I am heartbroken to announce my mom passed away yesterday morning, peacefully,’ wrote Jenner.
‘Losing a mother is unique in the sense that she is the only person that loved me my entire life. I will miss her tremendously.
‘She was a few weeks shy of 97 and lived a full life. Love you mom.’
Caitlyn Marie Jenner is a former Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete.
Jenner played college football for the Graceland Yellowjackets before incurring a knee injury that required surgery.
Jenner then went on to become a reality TV star with Keeping Up With The Kardashians and then, later, I Am Cait.
She had spunk: ‘I am heartbroken to announce my mom passed away yesterday morning, peacefully,’ wrote Jenner

Very close: Esther said last year that she spoke with her daughter every day
Esther welcomed Caitlyn in 1949, in Mount Kisco, New York, with her husband as William Bruce Jenner, who was an arborist originally from New Brunswick, Canada.
In 2022, Esther made headlines when she said she was not a fan of the Hulu series The Kardashians.
‘I think that Kardashian show is the most senseless thing I have ever watched,’ Esther told the US Sun.
‘But my two granddaughters, Kendall and Kylie, created it, and I love them dearly.
‘They’re my blood. And my four step-grandchildren — Kim, Kourtney, Khloé and Robert — feel like they’re mine, too.’
Caitlyn was not asked to be on The Kardashians.
They had a bond: Kylie said on I Am Cait she wanted to be a young mom like her grandmother Esther was

‘I don’t know if [Caitlyn] even cares. It’s something we haven’t even discussed,’ she said.
At the time, Esther said she was very close to Caitlyn: ‘We probably talk three or four times a week. I have to live with whatever decisions [she] makes and support [her] in whatever [she] chooses to do. I’m not in control,’ Esther added.
After the interview ran, Cait’s rep told PageSix that Esther was not of sound mind.
‘Caitlyn’s 96-year-old mother is senile. She lives alone in a home. Caitlyn has 24/7 armed security at all times and has no fear for her safety. All comments related to the Kardashian and Jenner children are that woman’s own opinion and were hurtful for Caitlyn to read about in the press.’
