Claudia Winkleman and husband Kris look loved-up in rare public appearance

Claudia Winkleman made a rare public appearance with her husband of 22 years, film producer Kris Thykier, as they put on a loved-up display while walking the television BAFTAs red carpet.

Claudia, 51, made reference to her recent BBC series The Traitors today, 14 May, as she sported a black blazer with the word "Faithful" printed on the back in white lettering.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter paired this with some black leggings and white heels. She completed her look with some gold bangles and a matching necklace.

Meanwhile, Kris sported a black suit, which he teamed with a white shirt and black bow tie.

The loved-up duo hugged as they posed for photos on the red carpet, which Claudia taking the opportunity to show off the back of her blazer.

The TV presenter kept her hair in her signature fringe, which she recently took to new lengths for the BAFTA Television Craft and BAFTA Television Awards Nominees Party on April 20.

Attending the star-studded event, Claudia certainly let her hair do the talking, with her eyes barely visible under her lengthy fringe.

Speaking to OK!, she humorously shared that she is seldom seen without her bangs, joking that her forehead is "wrinkled like a Shar Pei" underneath her fringe.

“It's never been cleaned. There are small creatures under there. There are parrots and squirrels. It should be protected by UNESCO for the wildlife,” she quipped.

Earlier this year a video clip of Claudia without her fringe went viral, as fans shared their shock at seeing her forehead.

The clip is from 2003 and shows Claudia, who would have been 31 at the time of the interview, hosting a BBC chat with Frasier star Jane Leeves.

She looked remarkably different with lighter brunette hair and just a few wispy fringe pieces instead of the recognisable block bangs she wears today.

One Twitter user commented: “I think this is the first time I’ve seen Claudia Winkleman’s forehead.” A second wrote: “The lack of fringe is the real archive matter of interest here!”

Claudia and her fringe will be coming back to our screens soon, as she's set to host a second series of The Traitors on BBC One, after the surprise success of the first series of the show.

The second season is due to start filming this summer and will once again be set at the 19th-century Ardross Castle, 25 miles north of Inverness, Scotland.

A show source said to The Mirror : “These days almost every new series is a reboot of something that's gone before. So it's really nice to try something fresh – and for it to do well. The Traitors got everyone talking, so bringing it back was a no-brainer. Claudia was perfect."
