Curtis Pritchard warns brother AJ ‘you better be on your A-game’ for Strictly Come Dancing performance

Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard, 23, has warned his brother AJ Pritchard, 24, to be on his ‘A-game’ ahead of his first Strictly Come Dancing performance on Saturday 21 September.

Curtis, who is dating Irish beauty Maura Higgins, 28, shared a selfie of him wearing a blue shirt and trousers before travelling to watch his brother perform and wrote on the photo: “@bbcstrictly here I come !!! Go on @AJAce.”

He later shared a video of himself in the car and tagged his bother AJ in and said: “Here I am AJ, on my way to watch you on your first night. I know no on goes home tonight but the points roll over – well scores – so make sure you’re on your A-game boy, and Saffron. I wish you all the best.”

Curtis, who is a professional dancer himself, filmed another video on himself walking towards the Elstree Film and Television Studios where Strictly is filmed and added another message to his brother.

He said: “Hey AJ, literally walking up, Dad’s hobbling along but we’re on our way so can’t wait to see you and I wish you all the best of luck so I’ll see you later big man.”

Curtis also revealed he landed a role reporting on Strictly Come Dancing for Hits Radio earlier this week. Speaking about landing his new job as official Strictly correspondent for the radio station, Curtis said: “I’ve been on Dancing with the Stars in Ireland. I’ll give you all the best inside gossip, I know somebody who’s in the business!”

Adding about why it is such a dream role for him, Curtis joked: “I get to talk about AJ in a bad light!”

Curtis will join Fleur East, Greg and James on Hits Radio every Monday morning to chat through events from the weekend.

Professional dancing brothers Curtis and AJ are also set to tour the UK next year with a dance show. Speaking about his relationship with AJ, Curtis revealed: “AJ and I are brothers so we are competitive.

“We argue, everyone argues. We’ve always danced and performed against each other.

“So now to be on tour together where we can actually show the world how much we do love each other, slash hate each other, cause we’re brothers.”

AJ is partnered with YouTube star Saffron Barker, 19, for this year’s BBC dancing series. Before the series began, Saffron exclusively told OK! magazine she was finding the rehearsals “exhausting”.
