Danny Dyer’s mum asks him to kill her if she ever gets dementia

EastEnders star Danny Dyer ’s mum has asked him to kill her if she gets dementia.

Christina Dyer said: “[It’s] such a cruel condition. My mother-in-law has vascular dementia. I have told my kids to put a pillow over my face if it happens to me. I am petrified that somewhere inside, you know what’s happening.”

The English teacher, who has three children – Danny, Kayleigh and Tony – posted online how painful it is dealing with a loved one having dementia.

Sharing a poem titled When I Wander, she said: “Oh my god! This is wonderful. It could be describing my mother-in-law’s long journey into dementia. F*** dementia.”

Vascular dementia is caused by reduced blood flow to the brain and affects 150,000 people in the UK. Under the 1961 Suicide Act, it is illegal to assist a person to die, with a possible sentence of up to 14 years imprisonment.

Nearly 350 Brits have ended their lives at Dignitas in Switzerland where it is legal.

Meanwhile, Danny recently paid tribute to his wife on their third wedding anniversary.

In the emotional post, the actor revealed they had many "loved up wonky years together" but he gushed she was "incredible".

Danny and Joanne nuzzled each other's necks as they looked incredibly loved-up in the wedding snap accompanying the post.

He penned: "Happy Anniversary to the most important person I have ever met… I've known you since I was 13 years old. I will always love you Juans. Let's have many more loved up wonky years together. You're f***** incredible."
