Eamonn Holmes shares recovery from back injury
Eamonn Holmes has been inundated with supportive messages from fans after sharing how his life had changed due to chronic pain.
Since 2021, the former This Morning presenter had been suffering due to a dislocated pelvis, three slipped discs in his beck and a trapped sciatic nerve.
After numerous health appointments, he finally had surgery to relieve the pain in September last year.
In a new update, the 63-year-old told fans how his weekends had changed from sporting events to rehabilitation.
Taking to Twitter at the weekend, he wrote: “Saturdays…. I used to love them. They used to mean Football. Now they mean Gym,” Eamonn tweeted.

“Heavy Rehabilitation scheduled every Saturday in particular to strengthen my legs and back to hopefully get me walking unaided again….. but I just don’t like it.”
He added: “Wish me well,” which prompted many of his one million followers to send supportive messages.
Eamonn also took to his Instagram page to share a video of himself sitting and standing unaided while taking deep breaths.
The GB News host told fans that while the physiotherapy may seem easy, it was an “amazing achievement” for him, after recently relying on a crutch for support.

As part of his caption, he wrote: “Thanks to everyone at @neurokinex Gym for helping me to get back on my feet bit by bit.”
Eamonn’s health update was praised by many of his followers, including his wife Ruth Langsford, who wrote: “That’s the spirit.”
Martine Mccutcheon typed: “You are looking so much stronger and well – it’s all paying off Eamonn! You are such a trooper. Give gorgeous Ruth a big cuddle from me please.”
Nick Knowles commented: “Keep at it yourself! Doing a grand job – wishing you all the best mate.”
Joe Swash added: “Well done mate. You’ll be playing in soccer aid next year xxxx.”
Eamonn’s health milestone came after he was dealt another health woe following his operation last year.
Just two weeks after surgery, the father-of-four fell down the stairs and hit a stone floor at his Surrey home.
The unfortunate fall resulted in a broken shoulder and blood pouring out of mouth.
Furthermore, the incident caused Eamonn’s legs to be affected and he was later spotted in a wheelchair and using a walking stick.
He was last pictured using his mobility aide at the Tric Awards, held in London, last month.
