It comes after it was confirmed that Emmerdale would be the first British soap to resume filming amid the coronavirus pandemic.

This Morning soap expert Sharon Marshall, who is also a writer on Emmerdale, explained that the new episodes, which are going to be aired on TV in June, are being called "lockdown episodes" because they'll focus on the relationships in various households.

She said: "They're called the lockdown episodes and they are what we refer to as two-hander episodes, paired down.

"So it's two cast members, very paired down."
