Not only is Anton Du Beke, 55, known for his graceful moves on the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor, but viewers have also come to love his quirky sense of humour as well. Now, he’s taken a hilarious swipe at his former co-star Kevin Clifton, and his ability to stir up romance rumours with his partners on most series.
He’s not in it this year, so everyone can breathe a sigh of relief!

But after his departure in 2020, Anton, who is set to appear on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel this evening, revealed viewers can “breathe a sigh of relief” that there will be no funny business in that department from him ever again.
In a recent interview, the dad-of-two was asked if whether celebrities who are in a relationship prior to going on the BBC show should “kiss goodbye” to their other halves if they’re paired with Kevin, and his response was full of humour.
“He’s not in it this year,” he shrugged, before chuckling.
“So everyone can breathe a sigh of relief!”
Kevin and his current girlfriend Stacey Dooley met on the show in 2018, and eventually lifted the glitterball trophy together.
Following their success, the pair were catapulted into the limelight further when their working relationship blossomed into romance.
Exactly when the couple started a romantic relationship is not known, but they did confirm their romance shortly after her ex-boyfriend Sam Tucknott gave a tell-all interview in April 2019.
Stacey insisted that there was no overlap between the relationships, and in July she spoke publicly for the first time about boyfriend Kevin.
Kevin was previously married to fellow dancer Karen Hauer, and following their split in March 2018 they still remain close friends.
The “Strictly curse”, as it’s referred to by fans of the show, has struck many a professional and their partner down over the years, but for some happy couples the romance has lived on, long after the show is over.
Gorka Marquez and Gemma Atkinson weren’t actually paired up on the BBC dance show in 2017.
Gemma was waltzing with Aljaz Skorjanec, and Gorka was with Alexandra Burke, however rumours of a romance between them began circulating during their time on the show, and the pair finally confirmed their romance in February 2018.
In July 2019 they welcomed their first child together, a daughter called Mia Louise.
YouTuber Joe Sugg and his dance partner Dianne Buswell went public with their romance as soon as the 2018 series ended and since then have shared lots of cute selfies.
In August 2019 the pair announced that they had moved in together.
Countdown star Rachel Riley welcomed her first child with professional Pasha Kovalev, after they danced together on the show in 2013.
They wed Las Vegas in July 2019 and the same year Maven was born.
The Wheel airs tonight at 8:30pm on BBC One.
