Gigi Hadid arrested for drug possession and taken to prisoner detention center

Gigi Hadid had reportedly been arrested for mairjuana possession after flying to the Cayman Islands.

The supermodel had travelled to Owen Roberts International Airport on a girls’ trip on a private plane, but it got off to a very rocky start.

According to local outlet Cayman Marl Road, Hadid and her friend were arrested after custom officials allegedly found “ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja” in their luggage.

It’s claimed Hadid and her pal were then arrested on “suspicion Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja”.

After being taken to the Prisoner Detention Center, they were reportedly released on bail.

Two days later, on July 12, Hadid and her pal were formally charged during a court appearance, where they pleaded guilty and were both fined $1,000, according to Cayman Marl Road

“Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license,” her rep told E! News. 

“It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.” 

Two days later, on July 12, Hadid and her pal were formally charged during a court appearance, where they pleaded guilty and were both fined $1,000, according to Cayman Marl Road.
