H from Steps children: Does Ian H Watkins have children? Inside family life

H from Steps admitted he auditioned twice before for the show and succeeded with his first attempt. He joins a star-studded line-up of 12 celebs who will all compete against each other to be crowned king or queen of the ice rink.

Does Ian H Watkins have children?

H and his partner Craig Ryder became fathers in March 2016.

They are parents of twin boys Macsen and Cybi and 43-year-old H said become a father was “an emotional whirlwind”.

The birth came after a surrogate mother miscarried their unborn child in 2012.

He said back in 2011: “I’ve always known that I wanted children ever since I can remember.

“I turned 35 this year and most of my friends have settled down and had babies and I suppose it just feels really natural that we are doing this now.”

H and Craig started trying to have a child via adoption in 2015 but later decided it wasn’t right for them.

They said at the time: “The whole process was quite gruelling.

“Rightly so, they delve quite deeply into all aspects of your lives, but basically at the end of the whole process we weren’t guaranteed to have a child.”

In 2017, H’s old band Steps reunited for a UK tour which meant he had to get back into shape with visits to the gym after being a stay-at-home dad since the boys were born.

He said he found it rewarding, albeit tiring, as he dealt with two toddlers at home.

H told Wales Online: “We are thoroughly enjoying them but who knew it could be so manic?

“I don’t get a chance to sit down though as I use that time to catch up with everything else.”

Watkins is also a keen artist and horse rider but he admits that he hadn’t done either since the boys arrived.

Dancing on Ice 2020

H’s part in Dancing on Ice was announced in September after rumours had circulated the 90s pop-star would be lacing up his skates.

The news of the first same-sex coupling didn’t come until a few weeks later when it was confirmed he would be partnered with professional Matt Evers.

It seems having two people of the same sex dancing together doesn’t come without its challenges, especially when it comes to their “manhoods”.

Speaking to The Sun, the veteran ice skating professional revealed one of the challenges dancing with a man poses: “We’re in full-on practice mode. There’s a practical difference, though.

“Parts of his anatomy get in the way in certain moves, on some of the lifts.

“We’re having to alter the lifts because it’s never been done before,” Matt added and it seems the pair are pressing on regardless.

Fans got their first glimpse of the men in action during a special festive edition of the reality show on December 21.
