The ‘Without Me’ singer is horrified after realizing her blunder, quickly deletes her ill-advised tweet that seemingly called for the collapse of Freedom Tower, and insists she meant ‘zero harm.’
AceShowbiz –Halsey is back-pedalling furiously after realising she called for the collapse of New York’s One World Trade Center building in an ill-advised early morning tweet.
Responding to a bad review for her new album, “Manic”, posted on the Pitchfork website, the singer snarled, “can the basement that they run pitchfork out of just collapse already,” and quickly realised she’d made a big mistake.
NBC reporter Ben Kesslen reposted the tweet and wrote, “losing my mind thinking about the person on halsey’s team who had to tell her she just called for the collapse of one world trade (center).”
The building, also known as the Freedom Tower, was erected as a tribute to those who perished in the terrorist attacks on New York in 2001. Pitchfork’s offices are based there.
Halsey saw Kesslen’s tweet and responded, “ABSOLUTELY deleted it upon realizing this. was just trying to make a joke!”
“Intended zero harm. Just figured I could poke at them back with the same aloof passive aggression they poke at artists with! Clearly a misunderstanding.”
