Hannah Spearritt puts on a brave face as she is seen for the first time since the tragic death of her ex and S Club 7 bandmate Paul Cattermole

Hannah Spearritt was seen for the first time since the death of her S Club 7 bandmate and ex-boyfriend Paul Cattermole on Saturday.

The singer, 42, put on a brave face as she attended the preview of Chessington World of Adventures Resort’s new World of Jumanji in Kingston upon Thames.

She was joined by her two daughters Taya, four, and Tora, two, and her partner Adam Thomas for the family resort day out.

It comes after the tragic death of Hannah’s ex-boyfriend, longtime friend and bandmate Paul at the age of 46 last month, who she dated in the early 2000s.

In her first public sighting since his death, Hannah flashed a smile as she posed for pictures at the theme park, putting on a brave face.

The Primeval star cut a stylish figure in beige cargo trousers and a white T-shirt, which she styled with a brown bomber jacket.

She kept comfortable in a pair of beige lace-up boots and wore her blonde locks loosely across her shoulders, with her fringe pinned back from her face.

Hannah was joined by her partner Adam, who kept it casual in black jeans and a white graphic T-shirt, which he paired with a beige jacket and brown boots.

They were seen lovingly posing with their two daughters, before Hannah tried out the brand new Jumanji themed ride.

Her latest outing comes after Hannah has been concentrating on her life with her loved ones after the devastating news of Paul’s death.

Paul was found at his Dorset home on the morning of Thursday April 6 and was pronounced dead in the afternoon, his family said the following day.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

In a joint statement, Paul’s family and S Club 7 said: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.

‘Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

‘While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.’

The sad news came six months before the S Club 7 tour was due to take place in October. The band are set to still go ahead with the tour and honour Paul.

Last month, Hannah reflected on her romance with Paul in the early 2000s, reminiscing about falling for Paul when he played guitar for her in America.

She told The Sun: ‘The whole thing was honeymoon-like.  I don’t remember a day when I felt bad. Life was really, really good.

‘It was fun from the get-go, it was one long honeymoon period. He also loved to play his guitar for me. He’d just pick up his guitar in the moment, and make up songs and sing to me.

‘We would go out on long drives together at night, up into the hills to watch the sun set.’

Hannah also said she is overwhelmed with grief, saying ‘my heart is broken for him and his family’.

Hannah admitted Paul was happier than he had been in years, which makes it ‘even more heartbreaking’.

The actress expressed her gratitude for the ‘heartwarming’ messages of support from fans, saying they’d brought ‘a little ray of sunshine within the darkness’.

Hannah and Paul dated from 2001 until 2006, before briefly rekindling their romance in 2015, when they then went through a tough split.

In January this year, their management arranged a meeting with a mediator so they could work through their differences .

Hannah said she wanted to look to the future and ensure they could work together harmoniously and not make the rest of the band feel awkward.

After their initial nerves dissolved, she said the pair were talking fondly about their time working together as a band in the 90s.

The pair first met when Hannah was 13, when they were both members of the National Youth Music Theatre.

Back together: (L-R) Paul, Rachel Stevens, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Hannah, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett are seen in February this year before announcing their upcoming reunion tour

They were both chosen three years later for S Club 7 which was put together by the manager of the Spice Girls, Simon Fuller, when Paul was approached directly and Hannah auditioned.

They later moved in to a flat in London’s East Finchley but they grew closer romantically while filming for the group’s BBC television series Miami 7 in the United States in 1999, with Hannah describing Paul as ‘my first true love’.

Paul left S Club in 2002 and he and Hannah split four years later.

They rekindled their romance when the pop group reunited in 2015 but they went their separate ways for good three months later.
