Alison Hammond breaks down over Phillip Schofield
Holly Willoughby has been left distressed by Phillip Schofield’s latest interviews. She has been pictured enjoying the half-term break with her family in Portugal before she plans to return to This Morning on Monday.
The ITV presenter and her former co-star Phillip, 61, have presented the ITV Daytime programme for the past 13 years.
Phil has since stepped down from the show after he admitted to lying to his colleagues and ITV bosses about his affair with a young runner.
He has since explained that he has had no communication with Holly who did not respond to a text message he sent the presenter.
According to reports, Holly, 42, is concerned about her former co-star and is “saddened” to know he is in distress.
A source has told The Sun: “Holly has not spoken to Phil, but was saddened to see him like that.
“Seeing Phil so downtrodden and in a bad way was distressing for a number of people who know him personally.
“There is a big team on This Morning and it was shocking for people to see him that way.
“It is an incredibly sad situation.”

The source went on to say that Phil is currently being supported by his daughters and friends.
They added: “The focus for the This Morning team and Holly is to deliver the best shows they can, moving forward.”
Express.co.uk have approached Holly Willoughby’s representatives for comment.
In a new interview with the BBC’s Amol Rajan, Phil said he text Holly about the scandal to apologise for lying to her about the affair.
“The last time we had a conversation was when I texted Holly and said, ‘Don’t reply’ – this was after the statement last week – ‘Don’t reply, you’re probably not allowed to, but I am deeply deeply sorry that I lied to you,’” he said.
Addressing rumours that she knew about the affair, Phil said: “Holly did not know. And she was one of the first texts that I sent, to say, ‘I am so, so sorry that I lied to you’.
“She didn’t reply and I understand why she didn’t reply, as well. So yeah. If anyone is in any way linking Holly to this; that is absolutely, wholly untrue.”
Holly will be joined on the sofa by Josie Gibson when she resumes her role on Monday.
It is believed Holly will be working with a number of different presenters in the coming weeks.
She will remain on air until the summer holidays, when she will take another planned extended break until September.
Holly previously addressed Phil’s scandal in a statement, saying: It’s taken time to process yesterday’s news. When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not.
“It’s been very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie.”
