“Her voice is out of this world,” he told Variety‘s Marc Malkin. “She was warming up the voice near me and I was like, ‘What was that?’ ‘Nah, I’m just warming up the voice.’ That’s warming up the voice? It would take me a lifetime to be able to do that note. It’s amazing.”
He also dished on getting to sing himself, as a song was written into the movie for him. This will be a first for his career.
“The first song that I’ve ever sung was because [director] Rob Marshall gave me the chance to sing in The Little Mermaid,” he said. “He’s the very first one who was courageous enough to give me a song and give me the stage, and I adore him. I’ve loved him since a long time ago. I admire him. Working with him is a gift.”
“I think from what I’ve seen and what I know, the movie is going to be something out of this world,” Javier added about the film. “It’s going to blow everybody’s heads.”
