Jenelle Evans wants you to know a few things about her breakup with MTV!
As fans know, the network previously announced it would not be taping more episodes of Teen Mom 2 with the 27-year-old or her husband David Eason due to fallout over the family’s dog killing drama.
While the statement suggested the reality star was fired, Evans says that’s not the case — or so she assumes.
When asked about where she stands with MTV, the mother-of-three told People Now:
“My relationship with MTV right now — we just left it on a civil note. And, you know, apparently I’m still in an open contract, I hear… I hear that, you know, I’m not fired.”
Oh? That’s not what we’ve heard, girl!
The reality icon admitted she’s “confused” about whether or not she’s still in MTV’s good graces, as she’s only on speaking terms with one of the show’s producers.
She added:
“So, I mean, I’m confused, because I only talk to one of my old producers, but no one else will speak to me, so I don’t know. Things have been very hush-hush.”
Hmmm… sounds like MTV is playing hard to get — and it’s working!
When asked if she would consider rejoining the hit program, Evans said, “Maybe,” adding:
“But I would have to, I’ve been working with them for so long, just the editing is not good… It’s just never been good.”
Well, it’s never made her look good, at least. The author explained she feels like only negative aspects of her life are portrayed on screen for “ratings.”
MTV declined to comment on Evans’ remarks, but it issued a previous statement saying the network “ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since.” The statement added:
“Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019, and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”
They didn’t say anything about future seasons, though! Sneaky!!
As for the couple, Evans said she feels like her marriage to Eason is “stronger than ever” after a rough few months, including the pipe welder killing their family dog and an intense custody battle for their children.
She noted:
“I mean, especially because of the thing that happened. We had to be so strong during that. It was so hard to just hear accusations as a parent that aren’t true.”
Evans and Eason regained custody of their kiddos in July. Her future with MTV may remain unclear, but she’s said to be talking to other networks for potential gigs in the meantime.
