Dame Joan Collins ‘slaps’ Gemma Collins
Dame Joan Collins has revealed that she doesn’t enjoy parties anymore as celebrities are often on their best behaviour due to the fear of getting “cancelled or outed”.
The 90-year-old actress has shared her feelings about Hollywood parties, calling them “dull”.
Speaking to the Mirror ahead of the launch of her new book Behind The Shoulder Pads, Joan said: “I don’t spend too much time in Hollywood now. Back then, we were invited to all the top parties, and it was magical. But I took it all for granted as I was so young.
“The parties I go to now are kind of dull. They are like red carpet things in which everybody behaves themselves. If you don’t behave now, you are going to get outed and cancelled, or whatever it is they call it.”

Five times married Joan also spoke about her husband Percy, who she wed in 2002.
She called the theatrical agent, 58, her “rock” and the “light of my life.”
Discussing her upcoming tour in the autumn, she said: “We are going to show lots of clips. I have pictures of me eight months pregnant doing the twist, and home movies and lots of films with famous people like Sammy Davis Jr and Diana Dors.
“We’ll just talk, and for the second half people get to ask me questions – whatever they like. The favourite questions are like, ‘Who was your favourite kisser on screen?’ And I would always answer Paul Newman.”

Joan rose to fame in the 1950s during Hollywood’s Golden Age, but she’s best known for playing Alexis in Dynasty alongside Linda Evans.
Speaking about her experience on the 80’s soap, she also touched on the subject of body positivity, claiming that she and co-star Linda Evans were expected to stay thin and not indulge in any of the on-set catering.
Describing the dishes on offer, Joan said that there were sweet treats such as doughnuts and sweets on one side of the table, but she had to stick to the lettuce, which was on the other side.
When asked what she thinks about the body-positive stars of today, she said: “That feels like progress to me, I don’t have to hold my stomach in any more.”
Joan was born in London and moved to Hollywood when she was just 20 years old.
She has three children, Tara and Alexander, with her second husband Anthony Newly, and Katy, with her third husband, Ron Kass.
Her book Behind The Shoulder Pads is due to be released in September, with her tour of the same name starting in Newcastle on October 1 and visiting cities across England, including York, Peterborough, St Albans, Bath and London.
