TV star Julia Bradbury shares regular updates on social media and this week was no different. The Countryfile star could be seen in a strapless bikini on Instagram, while making the most of the sunshine and warm weather in the UK.
While the majority of the comments on her post were positive, some accused her of being too skinny.
Julie said the body-shaming does not necessarily hurt her own feelings, however she worries what effect unregulated comments will have on her children and the younger generation.
People should be more careful in regards to eating disorders, she stated.
Talking about the remarks she has received, the mum-of-three said: “I wasn’t personally mortified by it.
“I just think it is sad people go down that route. On social media you have to be very careful with your words because people do get hurt, do get mortified and there are some serious eating disorders out there.
“I have friends whose daughters have anorexia and it is awful, and I have friends who were bulimic and these are horrible diseases.
“I think if I wasn’t of a sturdy mindset those kind of comments could be deeply upsetting,” she told The Mirror.
Julia went on to say that she feels very confident in her own skin right now.
The Britain’s Best Walks host eats well and exercises regularly in order to stay fit and healthy.
The television star said she hopes there will be more restrictions in place on social media when her children are older.
Julia is mum to son Zephyr, nine, and twin girls Zena and Xanthe, six, who she shares with her husband Gerard.

In her social media snap, the 50-year-old presenter could be seen watching something on her laptop while sitting outside in the sunshine.
Her device was placed inside a cardboard box in order to shield it from the light.
“Welcome to my office in a box,” she captioned the post, which she shared with her 99,800 followers.
“Sometimes you have to think outside the box… Sometimes you have to make the box your solution.
“No zoom calls today,” she continued.
Many took to the comments section of her post to compliment the star and thank her for the summer hack.
However, others discussed her weight and figure in a more negative manner.
An earlier post showed Julia enjoying a staycation and sunbathing in a black bikini.
Again she received comments on her appearance.
“Julia I have always admired your fabulous figure and fitness. But you look so thin at the moment. I do hope you’re OK and well,” one user wrote.
“Yes I think she needs a good few meals,” another added.
Others warned of the danger of commenting on someone’s weight when you don’t know what’s going on in their life.
