They share 14-year-old daughter Suri, who they welcomed in April of 2006.
Katie and Tom became in engaged in 2005, after having dated for less than two-months.
They tied the knot on November 18 of that year, during a lavish ceremony in Italy orchestrated by the church of Scientology.
Reports over the years have alleged that Tom’s role in his marriage to Katie was a ‘controlling’ one and that Katie feared ‘retaliation’ by the Church Of Scientology, upon filing for divorce.

In her interview with Vulture published Tuesday, Thandie opened up about how she felt ‘terrified and insecure’ on the set of Mission Impossible II, due to Tom’s ‘dominant’ behavior.
‘I was so scared of Tom. He was a very dominant individual. He tries super hard to be a nice person. But the pressure. He takes on a lot,’ explained the WestWorld star.
Thandie played the role of Nyah Nordoff‑Hall, who was Tom’s character Ethan Hunt’s love interest in the blockbuster film.
Newton recalled one time – while the pair were filming in Spain – where Tom got ‘frustrated’ with her over her performance in one particular scene.

‘So this scene was happening, and Tom was not happy with what I was doing because I had the s**ttiest lines, and he gets so frustrated.’
Tom attempted to take matters into his owns hands by acting out Thandie’s lines himself as the co-stars performed an acting exercise.
But Thandie confessed that the method made her suffer more.
‘It just pushed me further into a place of terror and insecurity. It was a real shame. And bless him.

Thandie revealed she then called late director Jonathan Demme, who she worked with on Beloved and The Truth About Charlie, to seek advice after which he scolded her for not ‘backing herself’ and made her realize Tom wanted an ‘apha b***h’.
She also revealed that Tom’s then-wife Nicole Kidman was responsible for helping her scoop the highly sought after role.
Mission Impossible II premiered in theaters in the United States on May 24 of 2000 and raked in over $546million at the worldwide box office.
