Kevin Costner, 68, has dominated Hollywood headlines in recent weeks after the Yellowstone actor’s wife Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce after nearly 19 years of marriage.
It was also reported that Costner was leaving Yellowstone due to locking heads with creator Taylor Sheridan, with claims the actor’s shooting schedule for another project left the crew with minimal time to complete filming.
It’s since been confirmed Yellowstone will be ending with the upcoming second half of season five, which is yet to start production.
A source has now come forward to US Weekly to claim that Kevin is not the reason for the Yellowstone hold-up.
They said: “The holdup is not coming from Kevin.
“He is also very disappointed by the delays, which are beyond his control.”
The first half of the dramatic fifth season wrapped in January and was set to return this summer, however, with the delay of new episodes, it’s not expected to air until late this year.
The source further claimed that the issues are coming from behind the camera between writers and producers, with their other projects causing delays.
Costner’s lawyer, Marty Singer has since slammed the reports.
He told Puck News in response: “Casualties of the Costner-Yellowstone Crossfire.
“It’s ridiculous — and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second.

“As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”
The confirmation of Yellowstone’s end came amid news that Kevin had split from his wife Christine, with the latter citing “irreconcilable differences”.
Christine reportedly found the Yellowstone actor’s absence “hard” when he worked away and wished he spent more time at home with their family in Santa Barbara.
A source told People: “During filming, Kevin is not around very much. His absence has been very hard for her.”
“Christine doesn’t want him to throw himself into another project. He has been obsessed with filming Horizon since last year. She wasn’t happy about it.
“At times, his career has taken precedence over his home life.”
The source added due to his busy work life Kevin “took his attention away from his family home more than he realised”.
Express.co.uk has contacted Kevin Costner’s representatives for comment at the time.
Kevin filed his response to the divorce last Tuesday, and he is also seeking joint custody of their children.
The former couple have three children together: Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12.
