Kirstie Allsopp calls Piers Morgan 'repulsive bully' as he mocks her column

Kirstie Allsopp has labelled Piers Morgan a ‘bully’ after he called her column advising young people on how to save for a house ‘unbelievably stupid’.

The Location, Location, Location presenter faced backlash for penning a column suggesting young people move to cheaper areas, quit their Netflix subscriptions, and move in with their parents to afford a house.

Writing for The Times, Kirstie said some people weren’t willing to make ‘sacrifices’ and admitted she was ‘enraged’ when some people said they couldn’t afford to buy a home.

Kirstie herself had bought her first home at the age of 21 with help from her family.

Much of the public was unimpressed with the column, some branding it ‘entitled’ or condescending.

And outspoken broadcaster Piers also didn’t miss the chance to say, in no uncertain terms, what he thought about Kirstie’s advice.

Taking to social media, Piers wrote: ‘Every time Kirstie Allsopp trends, I check why and see she’s said another unbelievably stupid, ludicrously ill-informed and woefully privileged thing.

‘Then I wait for her to respond to the entirely justified outrage by throwing her toys out of the pram & quitting Twitter again.’

Kirstie has now responded to Piers’ remarks, and didn’t pull any punches as she described him as a ‘repulsive bully who would attach himself to any passing bandwagon’.

Piers has yet to respond, but as we’re likely all aware he’s not usually one to shy away from a public row, so watch this space.

She challenged: ‘You’ve got 9 months to achieve that. Ready, steady go.’

Kirstie had previously quit Twitter after a public row with GMB journalist Adil Ray.

In November 2021 the presenter sensationally announced she would be leaving the site as it was not a place for ‘intelligent debate & exchanges of views, ideas and perspectives’.

Before she logged off, she updated her Twitter bio to read: ‘Off Twitter once and for all. Determined not to fall off the wagon. Keeping account here to stop copycat b*****ks.’

She has since added another line to her bio reading: ‘INFO tweets don’t mean that I’m back.’
