Les Dennis, 68, guest-starred in the Christmas special of Birds of A Feather back in 2020. However, in a new interview with Express.co.uk, the star admitted he’s not sure what the future holds for him on the show.
Les played Graeme in the Christmas special who was the love interest to Lesley Joseph’s Dorien Green.
However, it turned out the character was a chancer hoping to make the most out of their romance.
Fans of the ITV sitcom loved the dynamic of the pair in the first episode of the show without Pauline Quirke.
Pauline did not reunite with Lesley and Linda Robson at the time as she was focussing on her drama academies.
Les has admitted he’s not sure what the future holds for the beloved sitcom in a new chat.
Speaking about coming back, Les said: “I don’t know whether they’re doing any more.
“And my character was somebody who came in and was a bit of a conman.
“He was supposedly a Harley Street dentist but he clearly was, you know, trying to scam Leslie for all the money he could get out of her.
“So I don’t know whether he’s a character that would be brought back, but it was great fun to do.”
In the chat, Les also admitted the show was a “great one” to be involved in.
He added: “Leslie and I had done a thing called The Pilgrimage: The Walk to Rome the year before.
“So we’d become firm friends, and it was my first time working with Linda and we just had a great time.”
He added: “It was a great show to do, I’ve always been a fan of that show and the writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran.
“So it was great to work with them and to work with Lesley on something else other than a walk around.”
The future of Birds of a Feather is currently up in the air amid rumours that Pauline’s absence was the reason behind its cancellation.
There were also some rumours of a “row” between the co-stars.
The Sun reported earlier this year that Pauline and Linda had fallen out, which caused tensions behind the scenes.
Linda has since denied this, speaking on Good Morning Britain back in July.
She said: “We haven’t had a falling out, Pauline doesn’t want to act any more, she wants to concentrate on her academy.
“You’ve got to respect her wishes.
“We did the Christmas special, they asked us if we’d like to do it and we said yes.”
Pauline has never made a comment on the rumours.
Les is currently appearing in the national tour of the musical Fat Friends.
The show is touring the UK and sees him appearing alongside Lee Mead and Sherrie Hewson.
