Lizzo has earned her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her smash hit “Truth Hurts.”
“Truth Hurts” reached the top of the chart after Lizzo performed the song on the MTV Video Music Awards on August 26. Last week, the single reached the No. 3 spot on the Hot 100 chart.
“Truth Hurts” pushed last week’s leader, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello‘s “Señorita”, to the second spot, while Billie Eilish‘s “Bad Guy” settled for the third spot this week.
This week marks the third consecutive week in which an artist has peaked to an initial No. 1 on the chart, after Mendes and Eilish topped the chart in the two previous two frames.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift‘s “Lover” jumped to No. 10 position from 19th last week, and “You Need To Calm Down” rose to the 4th spot from 14th last week.
Swift’s new album, Lover, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
