The One Show host Matt Baker, 42, has been married to Nicola Mooney since 2004. Matt and his co-star Alex Jones discussed Valentine’s Day during a segment on the BBC show yesterday.
At first, Alex asked guest Marian Keyes if she is a romantic.
The author replied: “I’m not no. My husband is more romantic than me, but neither of us are romantic.
“But, it’s the small things like, if I come home late, he’ll make me cheese on toast and that means more than flowers,” she added, prompting the presenters to agree.
“It’s not the once a year thing is it,” Matt chimed in.

Alex then turned to her co-star and said: “But you go big, don’t you?”
“It’s not, ‘I go big’,” he said hesitantly.
“I just like marking the occasions, you know whatever it is, I am big at celebrating anything really,” he added, laughing.
“That is true,” his co-star chimed in.
Back on Tuesday, Matt shocked his co-star about a story, in which a man gave his wife flowers.
After watching a clip about the flower industry, he turned to Alex and said: “You love all that stuff don’t you?”
The Welsh host said she liked the idea of becoming a florist, but seemed to change her mind after Matt told her the downside of the job.
“Your hands would get really cold,” the Countryfile star added, prompting her to go off the idea.

He went on to say: “You’d be up too early and your hands would be freezing.”
Recalling the story, he added: “A guy gave my wife flowers at a shop she went to yesterday and they said, ‘We’re giving away flowers’.”
Taken aback by the news, Alex gasped: “What?”
Matt continued: “And he gave her this bunch, a beautiful bunch of these daffodils and sure enough, they were all locked up tight.

“Came down this morning, stormy weather, raining, and these beautiful flowers had come out and it was really lovely.”
Matt has two children with his long-term wife Nicola.
Alex also shares two children with her husband Charlie Thomson, who she married in 2015.
