Matthew Wright has confirmed he is leaving talkRADIO after confusion over his “sacking” last month.
The broadcaster, 54, has confirmed today he is actually leaving his post at the radio station – a month after he hit back at claims he had been sacked.
At the time he declared the story was "totally untrue" and strolled back onto the air waves the following morning.
But today Matthew revealed his is now leaving his job at the station, taking to Twitter to confirm his exit.
In a series of cryptic tweets, he said: "Been hearing some amazing rumours about how @talkRADIO management plans to reward my #arias nomination for best speech broadcaster – deets to follow as and when!"
He shockingly followed up this afternoon with: "My reward is: I'm out of Talkradio at the end of March!"
Wright previously insisted there was absolutely no truth to suggests he'd lost his job in December, and revealed TalkRadio bosses handed him a new contract this morning hours before he went on air.
As his show the following morning, he explained: "Well, well, well.
"Surprise – it's me here for the next three hours now. Who knows what's going to happen over the next 180 minutes? What the blazes is going on?
"With Brexit , the general election , my future? It looks like [the Daily Mail] got briefed by someone who didn't know.
"They said I'd been fired after falling out with producers, not one word of which is true.
"I think that is self-evident."
Wright went on to thank fans for their support after he was bombarded with messages over the false sacking story.
He also explained he's just signed a new contract and is not going anywhere any time soon.
Mail Online previously reported other TalkRadio presenters, including Iain Lee and Eamonn Holmes, were left fearing for the future at the station now that it's been taken over by Times Radio this year.
His exit comes Matthew defended his decision to spend Christmas without his wife or 11 month old daughter.
The TalkRadio host jetted to the Caribbean alone for the festive season, leaving Amelia and baby Cassady at home.
Matthew explained the real reason for the trip was to try and sort his mental health issues.
"I've had a lot of mental health issues really over the last year and a half,” he said on This Morning.
“A friend's suicide, problems at Channel 5, other personal problems, and there was a story written about me, a fake story about me losing my job just before Christmas and it knocked me sideways."
"And Amelia just said, you know, 'What's the point of you being here not sleeping?"
Matthew said Amelia told him to go away and do something that was good for him.
So Matthew followed his wife's advice and booked himself two weeks away to enjoy some winter sun.
"And it was good for me," Matthew said.
