Michael Strahan and ex wife back in Manhattan court

Michael Strahan and his ex-wife Jean Muggli were in court Monday fighting over child support payments and the cost of horseback riding for their twin daughters, according to a source close with Jean.

The former NFL star — whose public 2006 New Jersey divorce from second wife Muggli ended with him owing $15.3 million — was in Manhattan Supreme Court for the first time in a new case filed by her, a spokesperson with New York Courts confirmed.

Muggli — who shares 14-year-old twin daughters with the “Good Morning America” co-host — has filed a money judgement in the contested matrimonial case against Strahan filed June 10, court records say.

A year ago, Muggli wanted to move to New York City with the girls so they could be closer to their dad, but ultimately the estranged couple decided the mom and daughters would remain in their North Carolina home so the girls — who are accomplished riders — could continue in the sport, the source said.

Strahan had agreed to chip in for their horseback-riding costs — but then allegedly “reneged” and hasn’t been paying his portion, the source said.

Muggli is also seeking child support payments ordered under a 2009 agreement — which Strahan is allegedly underpaying.

“Jean is in court just to enforce their agreement,” the source said.

In a 2007 divorce judgement, a judge ordered Strahan to pay $18,000 a month in child support, but it was not immediately clear what the current child support payments were set at.

“Michael has always honored his commitments regarding his children. These accusations are completely false,” a source close to Strahan said. “The reason they are in court is that Jean continuously asks for more money. Michael intends to do what is best for his children, as he always does. He is properly handling this in the court.”

The pair’s case is back on Oct. 16, but neither will be required to appear.

Muggli’s lawyer, Shannon Rogers Simpson of firm Cohen Clair, declined to comment.

Strahan’s rep declined to comment.
