Dolly Parton announced that on November 17 she will release a book that tells the stories behind her songs.
The book, titled “Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics,” will share stories behind the more than 175 songs by the country music and pop culture legend.
Mining over 60 years of songwriting, “Songteller” will also contain rare photos and memorabilia from Parton’s archives.
“A songteller is what I am, and this is my first-ever book of lyrics.
So, I’ve revisited my memories and opened up my archives to share the stories and treasures behind them in a way I never have before.
It’s going to be a beautiful book,” Parton said about the book on her website.
The book, co-authored by Parton and Nashville historian Robert K. Oermann, is being published by Chronicle Books.
“Across my life, I’ve written thousands of songs. But here, for the first time ever, we’re spotlighting 200 of my favorites in my new book called, ‘Songteller,'” the “Jolene” hitmaker said in a video posted by Chronicle Books.
