Olivia Rodrigo recently released “Can’t Catch Me Now,” a song from The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (Music From & Inspired By), the official soundtrack to Lionsgate’s latest film in “The Hunger Games” franchise.
Rodrigo and Daniel Nigro co-wrote the ballad. “But I’m in the trees, I’m in the breeze/ My footsteps on the ground/ You’ll see my face in every place/ But you can’t catch me now,” Rodrigo sings.
“Yeah, sometimes the fire you founded/ Don’t burn the way you’d expect,” she continues, before delivering the final line over an open, unresolved cadence, “Yeah, you thought that this was the end.”
“Can’t Catch Me Now” is one of the 17 songs on the Hunger Games soundtrack.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes, which follows the story of Coriolanus (Tom Blyth), who is the last hope for the Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war capitol, stars Rachel Zegler, Blyth, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andrés Rivera, Jason Schwartzman and Viola Davis. The movie arrives in theaters on November 17.
The full soundtrack is also scheduled to arrive on November 17.
