Peter Gabriel, Yungblud Among 2022 Silver Clef Award Winners

Peter Gabriel and Yungblud are among the winners of this year’s O2 Silver Clef Awards.

Peter Gabriel won the big title prize – O2 Silver Clef – for outstanding contribution to music.

“It’s wonderful to see Nordoff Robbins using music to reach young people, who otherwise would feel much more isolated and vulnerable, and giving them a means of expressing their emotions,” Gabriel said.

The former Genesis musician revealed that he is working on a project called Reverberation – on the impact of music on the brain and body, adding that this award is “very timely.”

Yungblud won the Best Live Act Award. “”Massive thanks for awarding me the Amazon Music best live act. I live for music and can see every time I perform how people respond,” said the pop-punk singer.

Indie-pop trio London Grammar; pianist, singer, composer and television presenter Jools Holland; singer Becky Hill; Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker; Four Seasons frontman Frankie Valli; rapper Kano, singer and producer Tems; rising star Griff and classical soul pianist Alexis Ffrench are the other artists who won 2022 Silver Clef Awards.

The prizes will be presented at a ceremony to be hosted by music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins in association with O2 at Grosvenor House in London on July 1.
