Phillip Schofield's wife Stephanie Lowe has broken her silence on her This Morning host husband coming out as gay.
Speaking about her marriage to the TV star, who she shares daughters Molly, 27, and 24 year old Ruby, the 55 year old told The Sun Online: "We have had to face the most emotionally painful time in our 27 years of marriage."
Phillip, who's been praised by celebrity friends for his bravery, announced the news in an emotional Instagram statement on Friday morning.
Before appearing on This Morning to speak to co-host Holly Willoughby, 38, about the news, he told the public: "You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing – and so you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years.

"With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been have coming to terms with the fact that I am gay."
Phillip grew emotional when he discussed how supportive his wife Steph and daughters have been during this difficult time for them as a family.
The 57 year old said: "It hasn't been easy but they are so amazing in their love and support.
"I sat them down and I told them and they jumped up and they gave me a hug, a big hug, a long hug and then they hugged Steph and they said ‘it’s OK, this is fine. We’ll be OK, we will always be a family. Always us four."
Phillip said Steph had been "simply astonishing" and revealed they "never had any secrets" and their relationship has always been "honest and open".
He said: "She’s incredible, there’s no-one in my life who would have supported me the way she has."
It comes as Phillip recently revealed he's known he was gay since he married his wife back in 1993.
Speaking about his thoughts and feelings from that time, he explained: "I am not saying I didn’t know. Whatever was 'there' I thought, 'OK, whatever this is, you stay back because I am happy.'"
He said he's had a hard time coming to terms with his sexuality and even sought out professional help to work through it.
He continued: "If you ask anyone who is gay, they know — there is no confusion."

Phillip said he felt like he had the "perfect life" with his family and career as he explained: "I admit I was perhaps a bit naïve. But when we got married it was a joyous time and it wasn’t a consideration in my head. I was so, so happy when we had the girls, and then bringing them up.
“You never know what is going on in someone’s head when they you think they are leading the perfect life. And I was. But then it was there. I was confused by what it was. I thought maybe I was bisexual.
"But over time I realised and started coming to terms with it. And I realised I had to be honest with myself."
