Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 54, responded to a tweet from MP Jared O’Mara’s former aide Gareth Arnold, 27.
In view of his 21,000 followers, the latter tweeted: “So I’m doing quite a lot of TV, radio and newspaper interviews for the next few days.
“Apologies for not responding to emails/texts in good time.
“Also, before you ask @piersmorgan you gammon-headed turnip – I’ve just spent the last 8 weeks with one idiot, don’t need another.”

Hitting back at Gareth, Piers replied: “I’m on holiday in Hollywood, so my interest levels in interviewing an unknown, treacherous, self-indulgent, publicity-seeking little d**k like you are less than zero. FYI.”(sic)
Many of his 6.7 million followers flocked to his post to comment on the pair’s exchange.
One user wrote: “Still you fancied replying to him.”
Another jokingly commented: “But what do you really think,” while a third penned: “So much that you bothered to reply. Hmmmmm.”
Gareth’s tweet to Piers came before he appeared to have sent a series of tweets from Jared O’Mara’s account.
The former aide expressed his feelings towards Jared before signing off: “Consider this my resignation. Thanks Gareth Arnold.”
Elsewhere, Piers is currently on a break from his presenting duties on Good Morning Britain.
Despite his break away, Piers has been expressing his thoughts about Britain’s new Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55.
Yesterday, Boris was revealed as the new leader of the Conservative party after beating rival Jeremy Hunt, 52.
At first, he shared a throwback picture of him laughing alongside Boris and his sister Rachel.
He commented: “Well, on a positive note, he’ll definitely be a lot funnier than his predecessor.
“Congrats @BorisJohnson Carpe diem and please don’t f*ck it up.”
He later wrote: “The more the usual insufferably self-righteous, PC-crazed, virtue-signalling liberal snowflakesuspects scream with horror about Boris, the more I’m warming to the idea of him as Prime Minister.
“Like [Donald] Trump, he has a commendable talent for sending them all completely nuts.”
In another tweet, Piers added he hopes Boris “surprises everyone” after hitting out at Theresa May.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
