Luke Norris has been playing trusty Dr Dwight Enyin in the hugely popular BBC drama Poldark since 2015, however that hasn’t made him more confident with photoshoots. The actor has now been asked about how it feels to be “handsome” in a new interview, a subject that previously came up on Channel 4 morning show, Sunday Brunch. The 33-year-old admitted he “just doesn’t get it” and was previously told he was “punching above my weight” with an ex girlfriend. Speaking to the latest issue of Radio Times, he branded the attention on his looks as “so ridiculous”.

Luke commented: “I did Sunday Brunch and they twice commented on me being handsome. And I just don’t get it.
“I mean, I spend a lot of time looking in the mirror because I’m that terrible actor mix of vanity and insecurity, but I just don’t feel I’m handsome.”
He appeared on the programme last month to promote Poldark season 5, and was joined by the likes of Roisin Conaty, Joe Sugg, Dianne Buswell and Clive Anderson.
He continued: “When I was at sixth form, a guy in my year said he didn’t know what my then-girlfriend saw in me and I was punching above my weight because I wasn’t that good-looking.
“That feels much truer to me. Much closer to home.”
The small screen favourite went on to discuss his wife, actress Joanna Horton, and their two daughters.
Luke said he was “terrified that we’d have a boy because then I’d become the role model – someone that they’d be looking up to – and that still feels like a very scary thing to do because it’s something that you’re supposed to have a handle on: masculinity, or even adulthood.
“Which I was afraid of. But yes, we have two girls and we’re delighted. It’s good, brilliant, wonderful”.
He also addressed juggling work with family life, saying it can be “really tricky”.
“… It’s feast or famine. That means when you’re employed, you can be away a lot. And that can be hard, particularly when the babies are small and you’re out for feeds and bedtimes,” he said.
Adding: “When Jo’s in this play, I’ll be at home with both girls for a few months, which is great.”
Poldark cast: Luke Norris’ interview in Radio Times [RADIO TIMES]
Luke has previously appeared in the likes of films The Duchess and Been So Long, and series’ The Inbetweeners, Skins and Titanic.
Meanwhile, there is just four episodes left of the final ever run of Poldark, starring Aidan Turner in the title role.
Luke said he originally thought there was little chance of the show running for five seasons, as the 1970s version went for two.
