‘RHOP’ Star Ashley Darby Confirms Split From Husband Michael After 8 Years of Marriage

In a statement, the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ cast member claims that the couple, who shares two children Dean and Dylan, is both at ‘very different stages’ in their lives and ‘have different goals’ for their futures.

AceShowbizAshley Darby is pulling the plug on her marriage to her husband Michael Darby after 8 years. In a statement issued on Tuesday, April 19, “The Real Housewives of Potomac” star confirmed that she decided to go separate ways from the principal and co-founder of Monument Realty.

“Almost eight years ago, when Michael and I said ‘I do,’ we anticipated sharing every single day together from that moment forward,” she said in the statement to Bravo’s “The Daily Dish”. “Unfortunately, that is not our current reality. We have decided to separate.”

The Bravo personality went on to note that she’s aware that people will start speculation the reason of their breakup. “People will be quick to assume that the causes were too much intrusion by reality TV into the most personal parts of our lives, age gap issues, cultural problems, or child-rearing differences,” she explained. “Pieces of all these may have affected our pure love for each other, but no one reason is the root cause of our mutual decision to go our separate ways.”

Ashley claimed that the couple, who shares two children Dean (2) and Dylan (13 months) together, is both at “very different stages in our lives and have different goals for our futures.” She further explained, “We both want the other to achieve true happiness and fulfillment and feel that we cannot do this together.”

“While our romantic bond is broken, we will always love and respect each other. We also know that true happiness can only be achieved by continuing to work together and putting our hearts and souls into raising our two beautiful boys,” the reality TV star continued. “They will always feel loved and supported, for they were truly created out of love. As this is a personal matter for us, we appreciate everyone who has been a part of our journey and ask for your continued support by respecting us as we go through this emotional situation.”

The couple’s split came after Michael was accused of groping a cameraman during filming of season 4 in 2018. He was subsequently slapped with felony assault and misdemeanor improper sexual contact charges over the incident, but they were later dropped. Additionally, he was also hit with cheating accusations, though he vehemently denied the allegations.
