The ‘Clueless’ alum announces that she and her lawyer husband have decided to call it quits, months after her arrest for domestic battery charges on Jeffrey.
AceShowbiz –Stacey Dash is putting an end to her tumultuous marriage to Jeffrey Marty. In a statement posted on her Instagram page on Thursday, April 30, the actress announced that she and her fourth husband have decided to part ways “after much prayer.”
“Hello Everyone,” she greeted her fans and followers, before proceeding with the news. “My husband and I have made the hard decision of ending our marriage.” She continued writing over a plain black background, “After much prayer, I feel this is the right path for both of us. I wish him nothing but the best. Thank you everyone for your support and respecting our privacy during this difficult time.”
Stacey added several hashtags in the captions, “Love,” “Faith”, “Redeemed”, “Warrior”, “Grace”, “LifeLesson” and “Jesus.”
It’s unclear though if Stacey and Jeffrey have filed for divorce or they’ve just separated for now. The news comes months after the then-couple got into a heated argument that turned physical at an apartment in New Port Richey, Florida. In a 911 call that she made during the altercation on September 29, the “Clueless” alum initially claimed that Jeffrey had assaulted her.
However, she ended up being charged with domestic battery for reportedly pushing and slapping Jeffrey during the argument. They remained together after the incident and the charge against Stacey was dropped by prosecutors in October.
Expressing his relief at the outcome of the situation, Jeffrey tweeted at the time, “Today, the State Attorney made the right call by declining to file charges against my wife, @staceydash.” He explained, “She was arrested over my objection at the time, but due to the pending investigation, I waited to comment until now.”
The lawyer also hinted that he and Stacey were ready to move on following the alleged domestic violence, adding in his post, “We both look forward to getting this behind us.”
Stacey and Jeffrey tied the knot on April 6, 2018 in Florida, ten days after they first met. The 53-year-old actress was previously married to producer Brian Lovell, British executive James Maby and actor Emmanuel Xeureb. She shares a daughter, Lola, with her first husband, Brian.
