Strictly: Layton Williams announces he’s joined the cast of 2023
Layton Williams delivered a brutal blow to a troll who said they couldn’t wait to see him leave Strictly Come Dancing 2023, despite the fact that Ladbrokes suggests he’ll go all the way to the final.
Taking to Twitter, the 28-year-old actor reposted a savage comment that insisted: “Here’s hoping you get dumped out week one.”(sic)
Replying in view of his almost 49,000 followers with a laughing emoji, he shot back: “No-one gets voted out week 1 luckily!”
He had the support of his fans, with one, @perky507, quizzing: “Is this for real! Obviously doesn’t know how entertaining you are.”
Meanwhile, @welshman_katie encouraged: “You will be in the final xx because you are fabulous, darling!”

@grant80441482 chimed in: “I think if you don’t like someone on socials, don’t comment or speak to them. That way no hate.”
Layton, who is famed for playing the role of Stephen Carmichael in Bad Education, looked undeterred by the remark, however, when he shared a snap of himself grinning broadly and suggesting he would have “so much fun”.
The star is no stranger to scrutiny, having begun his career as a child star when he landed the title role in Billy Elliot The Musical in London’s West End at the tender age of 12.
He also attended world-famous stage schools such as Italia Conti and Sylvia Young, where the likes of Russell Brand and the late Amy Winehouse also studied.

Though he is clearly well-prepared and urged the BBC to “bring on the sequins”, there were some who thought he was a little too prepared.
Layton has faced allegations that he is already experienced in Strictly’s dancing genres, and the suggestion that his prestigious theatre school background gave him an unfair advantage over others.
However, he quickly hit back, tweeting: “Lemme clear up this *fact* real quick. I had my 1st introduction to Ballroom & Latin class in rehearsals yesterday (along with the rest of the @bbcstrictly cast) and it was so much fun.”
Meanwhile, another tweeter had a different perspective on any past experience he might have had in the dance world, stating: “Strictly would be boring if everyone was hopeless!”
Layton is thought to have studied street dance alongside drama at Carol Godby’s Theatre workshop, and ballet at Centre Pointe.
He’s been quick to express his enthusiasm for learning ballroom and Latin for the first time, even brandishing a book with the title Ballroom Dancing since his big Strictly announcement.
He explained to his 148,000 Instagram followers: “Lil bit of research. Day 1 of @bbcstrictly taster day today and OMG! I was *not* prepared for how epic this experience is gonna be. Let the madness begin.”(sic)
