The Chase’s Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis lost his friendly persona for a cheeky swipe at a contestant’s "really bad" performance.
On Thursday’s edition of the beloved quiz, four hopefuls went up against Darragh in a bid to take home some cash.
However, Sonny, a 29 year old tree surgeon, got off to a tricky start when he only correctly answered two questions in his initial cashbuilder.
Playing it safe and sticking with the money he had, he was able to win his seat for the final chase, adding the £2,000 he earned to the prize pot.
Sadly, that ended up being all there was in the total as his three teammates were all knocked out by Darragh during their rounds.
Facing the Final Chase alone, it was up to Sonny to answer enough questions to beat Darragh, getting a respectable 11 – which unfortunately wasn’t enough.
"You progressed through this game,” Darragh said after his win. "First round, I hope you don't get insulted by this, you were really bad!
“Then, at the table, you turned into a good player and you actually had a good performance in the final.
"I genuinely think if one of the faster players, especially Danny because he was really quick got in there, we're looking at 18 or 19 [steps] and then I might start looking at mistakes.
“But with 11 I had tons of time to think, I had all day."
Viewers couldn’t help but laugh at the comment, seeing as it was the closest thing to a swipe Darragh as ever said.
