Tom Jones defiantly continues to sing Delilah after ban from Welsh rugby matches

GMB: Tom Jones shocked by Delilah controversy says pundit

Sir Tom Jones has refused to give into the so-called “woke” decision about his song Delilah being banned at Welsh rugby matches.

In February, it was announced by the Welsh Rugby Union that the 1968 track would no longer be performed by choirs at the Principality Stadium due to its connotations to domestic violence.

The decision was linked to the lyrics of the song, which describe a man murdering his girlfriend after she is caught with another man.

Tonight, the 83-year-old brushed off the controversy and sang the hit with full passion at Sandown Park Racecourse in Surrey.

His performance was met with cheers from his loyal fan base who were also heard singing along to the classic.

Ahead of the gig, the singer was all smiles, despite the rain, as he posed for a picture on Twitter.

The musician was seen sporting a blue patterned shirt and jeans as he stood under an umbrella.

He captioned the post: “See you shortly @Sandownpark!”

Last night in Cardiff, The Voice UK coach didn’t hold back as he addressed the Delilah controversy on stage.

Ahead of singing the song, Tom defiantly said that while the choir may be banned from singing it, he and the crowd wouldn’t be.

“He’s not going to stop us from singing it,” the Sex Bomb hitmaker ranted.

“I’ll be singing it until the day I drop, so there you go.”

Many have backed Tom’s decision to continue singing the hit on social media.

Allan Fawcett tweeted: “Well done Tom Jones for basically telling the woke brigade to go to hell when it comes to sing DELILAH.

“Sick to the back teeth of this mamby pamby pathetic snowflake attitude. They do not speak for anybody but their small, minority, like minded WIMPS.”
