A number of British music stars have written an open letter to the government alleging that it “shamefully failed” the country’s musicians, dancers, actors and their support staff with a post-Brexit trade deal.
The superstars, including Elton John, Sting, Queen‘s Brian May, Oasis‘ Liam Gallagher, Bob Geldof and Ed Sheeran, urged the government to reach an agreement with the European Union to ensure visa-free music tours to member nations.
“The deal done with the EU has a gaping hole where the promised free movement for musicians should be,” says the letter, which was organized by the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
The letter, signed by more than 100 musicians and dozens of other prominent figures in the industry, was published in The Times on Wednesday.
