Top Gun actor Val Kilmer has made a rare public outing after the release of the trailer for the film's much anticipated sequel.
The star, 59, finally returned to the spotlight after some time away battling throat cancer.
His outing came just days after fans got their first glimpse of Top Gun Maverick ahead of its release in 2020.
The new Top Gun film, which features Tom Cruise, Jon Hamm and Ed Harris, comes a whopping 34 years after Kilmer starred in the original film.
Kilmer cut a casual figure as he was spotted for the first time in New York, sporting a Clippers hat, jeans, a patterned shirt and what appeared to be a trachea breathing device around his neck.
He initially denied he had cancer after his pal Michael Douglas broke the news, but opened up about his health battle in 2017.
"He was probably trying to help me ‘cause press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer," he said at the time.
"But my tongue is still swollen altho healing all the time [sic] because I don’t sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather.”
Val played evil Iceman in the original Top Gun movie in 2986, but is nowhere to be seen in the new trailer.
His absence prompted some to speculate that Iceman is dead.
However, he previously confirmed that he would be returning to the sequel, and promised it would not disappoint loyal fans.
